School Closures and Shelter Openings

Hurricane Irma Resources

The Florida Department of Education is in contact with school districts, state colleges and universities for updates and to determine needs before, during and after emergency events. All school districts, colleges and universities are monitoring Hurricane Irma and collaborating with local emergency preparedness officials to make decisions that ensure student and staff safety. Colleges and universities are also working with students who may need assistance with relocation.

Below is the list of closures at this time. Please note that this list will change frequently as we continually update this page with new information. As always, students and their families are encouraged to pay close attention to information sent through their institutions’ normal notification process and to heed the guidance of state and local officials.
